시간이 될때마다 호주 NSW의 Steward Report를 게재하고 그 내용에 대해 적고자 한다.
한국에서 심판업무를 보다 보면 호주에서 보던 시각과 다소 다른 측면이 있다. 그래서 한국경마 뿐 아니라 호주경마에 대해서도 계속적으로 그 시각을 유지해야 좀더 폭넓은 심판위원의 역량을 갖추지 않을까 한다.
2경주에서는 호주 NSW top jockey인 Nash가 출발대에서 말의 요동으로 떨어져 이후 경주에 기수변경조치가 되었다. 큰 부상이 아니길 바란다.
After being placed in the barrier, Castigate became fractious resulting in Happy Meteor, which was positioned in the adjacent stall, then rearing quickly, striking its head and flipping over, being cast in the stalls. Acting on veterinary advice, both Castigate and Happy Meteor were withdrawn at 1.25pm. The Stewards subsequently ordered that all investments on Castigate and Happy Meteor be refunded in full and further that all successful bets placed with bookmakers prior to 1.25pm be subject to the following deductions in the dollar on the face value of the ticket:
1st Forever Loved, 53 cent win, 32 cents place.
2nd: Senior Council, 48 cents place.
3rd: onadowntowntrain, 36 cents place.
Considering the degree in which Castigate was fractious in the gates, Stewards ruled that a warning be placed on the filly. Co-trainer Mr M Hawkes was advised that Happy Meteor would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards before its next race start. In this incident, N Rawiller, rider of Happy Meteor, was dislodged out of the barriers resulting in N Rawiller sustaining an injury to his back and being stood down by the Club doctor.
같은 경주에서 T. Berry가 Careless Riding으로 기승정지 처분을 당하였다. 우리나라에서는 주의정도로 그칠 사안이었지만 그 피해정도보다 기수의 부주의함에 초첨을 맞추어 심의가 이루어진 것 같다.
T Berry, rider of Forever Loved, pleaded guilty of a charge of careless riding in that on the home turn, he directed his mount out to improve when not clear of Just A Blur, resulting in Just A Blur being hampered and altering course to the inside of Forever Loved. T Berry's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Sunday, 25 August 2013 and expiring on Thursday, 5 September 2013.

제 3경주에서도 부주의한 기승에 대해 기승정지 처분이 있었다. 2경주에 비해서는 확연히 부주의함과 그 피해정도가 확인되었다.
S Lisnyy, rider of Braggart, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that in making the first turn, he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of Memro Bill resulting in Memro Bill being taken in across the running of Intimate Kingdom which was checked and further he continued to allow Braggart to shift in making the first turn when not clear of Memro Bill resulting in Memro Bill having to be checked. S Lisnyy's permit to ride in races was suspended for a period of four race meetings, to commence on Monday, 26 August 2013 and to expire on Thursday, 5 September 2013 on which day he may ride.

제 6경주에서는 2경주에 기승정지 처분되었던 T. Berry가 다시 부주의한 기승으로 기승정지 처분되었다. 자신의 위치개선을 위해 바깥으로 진로를 변경하는 과정에서 후속하던 마필과 거리없이 변경하여 처분되었다.
T Berry pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that near the 300m, he directed his mount out to improve to the outside of Nico Moochi, resulting in Ecuador making contact with Bombsquad and taking that runner out across the running of Favourite Miss, which was steadied. T Berry's licence for riding in races was suspended to commence on Thursday, 5 September 2013 following the period of suspension incurred in Race 2, and expiring on Sunday, 8 September 2013, on which day he may ride. In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into consideration meetings including Black Type races that T Berry will forego due to the suspension.
