오늘은 Rosehill Racecourse에서 경마가 있는 날이다.
드디어 Sydney Carnival Season이 시작되는 첫날이고 이날이 바로 Ladies' Day였다.
남반구에서 가장 큰 전광판과 경주로 입출구에 꽃으로 장식한 장식물이 보인다.
1경주에 장제사가 경주에는 사용이 금지된 Steel Plate를 장착한 경주마를 발견해 Steward에게 신고하였다. 이말은 출주취소 되었고 해당 조교사는 과태금이 부과되었다.
Ladies' Day로 여성들이 패션경연을 펼치고 있다.
Mounting area에서 경주로로 나가는 입구, 꽃으로 장식되어 있고 경마팬들이 바로 옆에서 말을 볼 수 있다.

1경주에서는 경주전 규정에 금지된 편자를 착용하고 나온 말에 장제사에게 발견되어 경주제외가 되었다. 장제사가 평소와는 다른 말발굽소리를 듣고 확인해보니 규정에 금지된 steel shoes였다. 우리나라도 장제사가 있지만 이렇게 경주전에 편자를 철저하게 검사하지는 않는 것 같다. 해당 조교사는 과태금 500달러가 부과되었다.
Hidden Warrior was a late withdrawal at 12.01pm when it was found the gelding presented with work shoes. Stewards subsequently ordered that all monies placed on Hidden Warrior be refunded in full and with regards to betting with bookmakers all successful wagers made prior to 12.01pm to be subject to the following deductions in the dollar on the face value of the ticket:
1st) See The World less 10 cents win, 12 cents place
2nd) Anise less 12 cents place
3rd) Hurrara less 13 cents place
At a subsequent inquiry, after taking evidence from Farrier Supervisor Mr R Irving, trainer Mr P Perry pleaded guilty to a charge under AR140A of presenting Hidden Warrior in the enclosure with steel work shoes, not permitted under AR140A(1). After considering Mr Perry’s good record, he was fined the sum of $500.
3경주에서는 갑작스럽게 결승선 직선주로에서 바깥으로 사행한 마필에 대해 warning이 주어졌다. 이곳에서도 말에 대해 barrier trial 전에 warning으로 기록을 하고 있었다.
Approaching the 350m Julienas ran out abruptly and again near the 200m ran out, resulting in its rider, N Rawiller, having to stop riding and straighten on both occasions. Stable representative Mr M Newnham was advised that a warning would be placed on the racing manners of Julienas.
Nash기수는 이 경주에서도 어께높이 위로 채찍을 사용하여 심의가 열렸다. 같은 사유로 직전에 기승정지 처분을 당했지만 이번에는 과태금으로 처분되었다. 이유는 그 정도가 크지 않고 요즘이 carnival기간이어서 큰 경주가 많이 예정되어 있어 이러한 사안이 감안되었다.
N Rawiller, rider of the winner, Julienas, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137A(4)(b) in that he used the whip in a manner that raised his whip arm above shoulder height. N Rawiller was fined the sum of $800.
8경주에서는 우승마의 기수가 결승선을 통과하기 전 우승세레모니를 한 것에 대해 과태금 300달러가 부과되었다.
이곳에서는 규정에 우승세레모니에 대한 처벌이 명문화되어 있어 아주 엄격하게 규정을 적용하고 있다.
J Cassidy was fined $300 under AR137(c) for making a celebratory gesture prior to the finishing line.
AR 137. Any rider may be penalised if, in the opinion of the Stewards,
(c) He makes any celebratory gesture prior to his mount passing the winning post.
