오늘은 Rosehill Garden에서 경마가 있는날~ 특히나 오늘은 Group 1 경주가 있는 날이고 그 경주 이름이 Golden Rose Cup이다.
그래서 그 경마일을 여기서는 Golden Rose Day로 이벤트화하고 있다. 경마장에 들어오는 사람들에게 위와 같이 장미 생화를 나누어주고
다들 가슴에다가 그 장미를 달고 경주를 관람하는 모습이 보기 좋았다.
1경주에서는 출발후 100m 지점에서 3마리가 발을 헛디디며 기수가 순간적으로 균형을 잃었던 사안이 발생하였다. 이에 대해 수석인 R. Murrihy가 직접
주로상태를 확인하는 모습을 볼 수 있었다.
Linking up with the course proper, passing the 1400m, Condahussler, High on Believing and Voltabolta dipped and became unbalanced. The track was inspected by the Chairman of Stewards in company with the racecourse managers.
여기 호주는 경마일 주로상태에 대해 아주 관심들이 많다. 잔디주로이므로 기후에 따라 상태가 많이 변하고 잘 관리되지 않으면 경주에 큰 영향을 미치므로
주로상태가 좋지 않으면 마주들도 출주취소를 하기도 한다.
호주에서의 주로상태는 아래와 같이 분류하며 관리하고 있다.
Australian track ratings range from Fast to Heavy and they are very important for the racing public to ensure punters are aware of the racing conditions for the day to make an informed bet on a particular fancy.
Most horses race best on a firm, dry track and are best suited to Fast and Good tracks, while other horses are able to plough through the mud on a wet track quite easily and are best suited to wet conditions.
Once the track conditions are known you can study the form guide even further and look for horses who have previous winning form in the conditions of the race in question before placing a bet.
Australian race track ratings have changed in recent times to have a graded rating system that provides a more accurate assessment of the condition of the track.

Race tracks that have received very heavy rainfall could have a track that is rated at worse than Heavy 10 which may cause the track to be unsafe for racing and the meeting can conceivably be postponed or abandoned. If a race club alters a track rating during the course of a race meeting it will sound a siren at the track to alert punters to the change.
3경주에서는 인기마였던 마필에 대해 기수, 조교사의 진술을 들었다.
여기 호주에서는 인기마가 성적이 저조하면 매번 기수, 조교사의 진술을 들으며 steward가 부르지 않아도 자기네들이 자동으로 찾아와
자신들이 생각하는 이유들을 진술한다. 이렇게 해야 경마팬들의 궁금증이 해소되고 경마의 공정성이 높아지게 되지 않나 싶다.
When questioned regarding the performance of Honourable Aussie, which weakened after leading, C Reith stated that, in his opinion, the gelding is not always genuine and compounded quickly when challenged early in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination of Honourable Aussie did not reveal any abnormalities. Mr A Rabbett, representing trainer Mr J Thompson, undertook to report back on the immediate racing future of Honourable Aussie.
4경주에서는 경주 후 마체검사 결과 부정맥(Cadiac Arrhythmia)이 진단되는 건을 확인하였다.
Marc가 한국에서는 부정맥 검사를 하냐고 물어봐 우리는 경마일에 파행검사만 한다니까 이 검사도 꼭 해야 한다고 했다.
Steward가 마체검사를 지정하면 수의위원은 파행검사와 함께 심박을 체크하여 부정맥 여부를 진단한다.
만약 부정맥이 진단되면 이후 ECG 검사 등 정밀검사를 거친 후 경주에 출전하도록 출주를 제한한다.
흔하진 않지만 경주 중 심정지 등으로 급폐사하는 경우 경주마와 기수의 안전이 보장되지 못하는 경우가 많기 때문인 것 같다.
부정맥에 대한 진단과 그 의미를 나중에 수의위원에게 물어봐야 겠다.
A post-race veterinary examination of Tullamore revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg and displaying cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer’s representative Mr M Newnham was asked to provide a full veterinary clearance, including the results of an ECG and also Tullamore would be required to trial prior to racing again.
6경주는 오늘의 하이라이트인 Golded Rose Cup
Group 1 경주로 총 상금이 1,000,000달러 우리나라 돈으로 12억 정도 된다.
이 경주는 3세 한정 경주로 우리나라의 코리안더비와 비슷한 성격이다. 이 경주에서 우승을 한 마필은 씨숫말로 많이 쓰인다고 한다.
1위마는 Epaulette 배당율이 14.4였던 마필로 의외의 결과가 나온 격이다.
